There has been much controversy about music in the Hip-Hop and rap sector. Many people worry that their violent and gruesome nature will wear off on adolescents. With all given respect, majority of these artists are adolescents who are creating this raw music. Artists like Nas and Jay-Z have changed their message over time from gun violence and shooting drugs to sending messages about police brutality and their unfaithfulness in the marriage and how that has impacted them. Artists like Lil Baby, City Girls, and BlocBoy JB talk about their experiences in their music. Selling drugs and scamming people are some of the messages they talk about in their music, but can you blame them? Coming straight out of the ghetto and poor what else are you going to talk about except what goes on in your neighborhood. There are reasons for having explicit versions and clean versions.

If people were so concerned about the two then parents should monitor what their children listen to. It is not the job of the artist to censor their music that caters to the people who want to hear about their life that they live. Yes, Hip-Hop and rap are the most profitable genre as the listeners are willing to spend more on merchandise, concert tickers, and albums. This is only one genre of music, and the world is acting like it is polluting the entire country.
